Affirmation Hotline used an automated calling system to support and bolster people, enabling them to find the kind words or affirmative phrases they needed to hear. By dialing a toll free number, participants could hear one of a number of pre-recorded affirmations. It was also possible to text the number & receive a texted affirmation in response.

We were particularly interested in taking a technology largely used to dehumanize phone communication and reappropriating it to provide a source of positivity and inspiration. We’d saw a chance to make cloud-based telecommunications technologies not just an “effective” tool, but an “affective” one.
